It’s been nine years since I left the world of normal office work. I was always a tech woman, learning IT at college and enjoying playing with computers since my childhood (does anyone remember the Commodore 64?). I worked in the civil service for 12 years, but found it didn’t have enough space for me to be inventive and create change, so it was a breath of a fresh air to leave it and start a new venture with my husband 9 years ago. I’ve learnt a lot from being self employed, and I have become much more creative than I was able to be in the office environment before.
Our life has really been an adventure ever since. We really enjoy travelling and especially hiking. We’ve done a couple of long distance walks, my favorite being crossing Scotland on foot from the west cost to the east coast which we have done twice! That’s how we got hooked on this beautiful Island and moved to the UK from Hungary 3 years ago.
That led to lots more change, I started a new profession as well doing freelance web design work. Living in a different country has given me different perspectives and I would recommend it as a training to everybody on this Planet! Making changes is the best teacher ever, and this is how we evolve, despite our resistance.
I have a deep passion for seeking how we can live a joyful life and along the way I have learned many things to support that, including yoga, astrology and ayurveda. I am committed to being a lifelong learner. I find such joy in learning new things, exploring and discovering. The internet has made that much easier for us all these days.
I am very happy that Mary Ann called me to be part of this group, to build and support the website! It is really high time to gather in communities and support each other in these evolving and quickly changing times.
